Glimpses of Lisbon (and Bellem)
For me, Lisbon in October is the best time of year to visit - neither too hot nor cold. I had beautiful clear skies and two things stood out for me. One was that the takeout line for Portuguese egg tarts at Cafe Bellem was way longer than the eat in one, so we really should've just lined up to sit down because I discovered (upon my re-visit to Lisbon about a decade later) that the interior of the cafe was massive so the line moved quickly. Two was that the best seafood on offer in Portugal are the Plecebes (not sure if I have the spelling correct but in English it's goose barnacles) and there is a very distinct way to eat them so you don't get juice everywhere. The razor clams come a close second, but actually those are better in Santiago de Compostela.
